Operation New Hope eLearning Initiative
As lead education consultant, I collaborated with a team of developers to redesign a personal and professional skills curriculum of 18 courses for clients at Operation New Hope (ONH).
A national model program that believes “Second Chances Matter,” ONH provides services to people affected by the criminal justice system in northeast Florida. As a key component of its successful Ready 4 Work program, the new eLearning initiative extends ONH’s reach to more participants within its growing network of locations and to similar agencies that license the curriculum for use with their clients.
My responsibilities included course design, instructor and animation scripts, practice activities, and assessment items.
Custom Onboarding Guides
I created interactive new hire guides for two businesses looking to update their onboarding materials. These “mini courses” highlight important policies from the employee handbook with a more personal touch, reducing questions for Human Resources staff and communicating company culture through images, videos, and more. New employees receive a link to the guide as part of a welcome email and can revisit it when needed.
Real Estate Video Series
I developed the concept, script, and storyboard for this video series featuring my client’s beloved bulldog, Poppy. The videos helped brand her new real estate business and educate prospective clients on a range of topics. This first video shows Poppy using the MLS to search for her dream doghouse.
Original Courses
I’m a full time instructional designer for a rapidly growing medical device company specializing in off-the-shelf and custom surgical solutions, with a salesforce of over 250 folks across the U.S. and Canada. My e-learning courses equip our new hires with a solid foundation in product knowledge that maximizes the effectiveness of their onsite hands-on training. I established a template used across all modules in the curriculum to increase engagement and accountability for learning, setting a new standard for quality for our company’s salesforce training.
New hires on our product development team take my courses to understand the importance of compliance with regulatory authorities in the design and development process. The growth of the team and number of new projects sparked the need for an increased focus on risk management.
